On October 9, following his visits to New York and Manhattan, Pastor Ock Soo Park visited Good News Atlanta Church and spent time in fellowship with local congregation members. Church Members from nearby cities such as Orlando, Charlotte, New Orleans, Memphis, Birmingham, and Miami also gathered to warmly welcome him. The visit coincided with the church’s previously scheduled Bible conference, bringing even greater joy to the members who had been praying for more people to attend the event.

On the second evening of the conference, when Pastor Park preached, the church sanctuary was filled to capacity, with additional chairs placed to accommodate the overflowing crowd. Many new attendees joined and gained assurance of salvation through the Word.

Preaching from Acts 8:26–40, Pastor Park shared about how Jesus had personally worked in his life and how his gratitude for the Lord’s love has only deepened over time. He testified of the power of sharing the gospel with others — that although some may initially ignore it, over time, people begin to receive assurance of the forgiveness of sins. He encouraged the congregation to live with gratitude toward God, who gave us such a wonderful Savior.

“The Bible says, ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3:23). Then it says something amazing: ‘Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus’ (Romans 3:24). I can never forget these words in my heart. I was supposed to go to hell, but now I can go to heaven — it brings tears of thanksgiving. How can I not speak of Jesus? What He did for us is too great. I am a worthless, sinful person, but He shed His blood for me so that when I die, I can go to heaven. There is nothing free in this world, but there is one thing that is truly free — Jesus died for our sins without asking for even a penny, giving us eternal life as a free gift. If you simply believe in Jesus, you will gain heaven. Dear brothers and sisters, as you remember the Lord who was crucified for you, your hearts will draw near to heaven, and God’s great grace will overflow in your lives. God loves you. Be thankful for His love, love Him in return, and let us all go to heaven together.”

Although Pastor Park’s visit lasted only one evening, many who heard the message continued attending the following meetings and fellowships. Notably, numerous English-speaking newcomers joined the Gospel Class and received assurance of salvation through the Word.

Brigitte Webster“At first, I planned to attend only one morning session, but after fellowshipping with Pastor Choi In-ho, I felt moved to continue listening to the Word. I’m 86 years old and have never felt confident that I could go to heaven. I also never told anyone that I still had sin in my heart. But through these messages and fellowships, I was able to open my heart and share honestly. I came to believe that Jesus has taken away all my sins and made me righteous and holy. I had a difficult experience at a previous retreat years ago, but now I truly want to attend again this year.”

Rosmarie and Phillip Wint“Through this conference, we heard the true gospel — something we had never heard anywhere else before. After hearing these messages, we could not deny that we are no longer sinners. We want to continue listening and plan to attend the upcoming Gospel Night next week.”

Olivia Watts“My entire understanding of faith changed through this conference. Before, I constantly tried to stand rightly before God through my works, yet I still saw myself as a sinner. But the pastors’ messages were flawless and clear — we are no longer sinners but righteous through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Two thousand years ago, Jesus took all my sins upon Himself once for all. Because of His blood, there is no need to ask for forgiveness again we have already been forgiven.”

Good News Atlanta Church will hold a follow-up three-day Gospel Night event from Monday to Wednesday. It will be a precious opportunity for those who heard the message to grow deeper in the gospel, allowing the Word of salvation to take firm root in their hearts and to learn how to live by faith as the righteous who have received salvation.
