When people go out before God to give themselves as an offering, people want to take out the parts that are disgusting, evil, and filthy. And most have the heart to keep alive the things they think they are good at, and the things they consider clean, good, or nice. The reason Saul was cursed was because even though he wiped out the worthless things and trivial things, he kept alive those things that were good or precious in his eyes. Leviticus 1:8-9 “And the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar: but his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.” The head and the fat, the inwards and the legs had to all be burned in order for it to be a sacrifice that God was happy with.
