The six branches come out of the shaft, and they have to be lined up side by side with the shaft in order to become a beautiful lampstand that lights up the darkness. If the branches leave the shaft and follow their own heart, that is fighting against God.

It is not important how much work we did for God, or how great the work was. We must give our right to decide to the Lord and follow his decision. When we leave our authority to the Lord and follow and act on the will of the Lord which he is pleased with, we can live the life of a saint who shines beautiful light.

The person God wants is the one who is of God, who receives grace, and who lives with Christ. That person can give glory to God and live a life that is a light to the world. For man to do something on his own is going against God. God is telling us this through the six branches of the lampstand.
