At the altar of burnt offering, you bring a lamb or goat and put its blood on the horns of the altar. At the altar of incense as well, you bring blood with the sin offering and put the blood on the horns. At the ark of the covenant, the high priest brings the blood and sprinkles it on top of the mercy seat. But only for the table of showbread, you do not put any blood anywhere. The table of showbread is the only place made of acacia wood that has nothing to do with blood.
When they give the sin offering, the high priest takes the lamb or goat and burns it on the altar. After they put its blood on the horns of the altar, the rest of the blood is poured out at the bottom of the altar. And before they enter the Holy Place, they must wash their hands and feet at the water laver. After they wash their hands and feet, they do not see blood anymore. In that state, they arrange the holy bread on the table of showbread. This is because the blood sprinkled on the altar washed our sins and made us have no lackings, not even a little bit, to stand before God.
Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
