The ark of the covenant is a replica of the one in heaven. In heaven, real angels are above the ark that is in the tabernacle, not angels made of hammered gold.
It says in Ezekiel 28:14, “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth.”
The anointed cherub that covers is talking about the two cherubims that cover the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant in the tabernacle. Of all the countless angels that come before God, God made the angels that are the most wise and precious to be the cherubims that cover the mercy seat.
When God accomplished this amazing salvation, he accomplished it at the mercy seat. The wings covered the mercy seat because they sprinkled blood above the mercy seat. The two cherubims can see the sins being redeemed at the mercy seat. These two cherubims are in such a good position, but unfortunately, even though they see the blood that was sprinkled at the mercy seat, they are not able to realize the secret of salvation.
Today many people understand this great salvation in their heads. Salvation is a secret that God has hidden. God only allows us to realize salvation through God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Because God has hidden this amazing secret of salvation, we must realize we are sinners and turn back. Receiving the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ is not something accomplished by our effort. It comes to our hearts when God allows us to realize the secret of redemption.
God only gave the Holy Spirit to born again Christians. When we heard the word of God, the Holy Spirit allowed us to realize salvation and have assurance of salvation. The Holy Spirit allowed us to realize the secret of redemption, so we realized that the blood of Jesus Christ washed our sins clean. Faith in this fact frees us from sin.
But the people who do not have the Holy Spirit, their hearts are led by the spirit of Satan. So even though they know the theory of salvation, they do not have faith in their hearts. So even though they know Jesus died on the cross for our sins, they are not free from sin. They always live in guilt about sin.
