If Jesus wore the same colors as the people of the world, he would have blended right in with people when he came to earth. But Jesus had completely different colors from people of the world. So he could not blend with politicians, religious people, or anyone. If Jesus had fit in with the scribes, Pharisees and people of this world, he would have been incredibly popular, and they would have welcomed him with open arms. But the reason he was crucified on the cross, even while he was doing good things, was because he had different colors from them.
No matter the time period or country, the thoughts that come from man can never line up or fit with the thoughts of God, no matter how good those thoughts may be. People are interested in nice words or beautiful stories or good works, and their hearts are drawn to those things. But God is not interested in those things.
Martin Luther was a Catholic priest, but one day he began to walk with Jesus, and he could no longer blend in, so he left the Catholic church and followed Jesus Christ anew. Before he was born again, John Wesley was a pastor of the Anglican Church, so he blended well with the religious conscience of the church. But one day all his sins were washed as white as snow. After he was born again, he could not mix with the church and was kicked out. Just like Jesus Christ did not fit in with the religion of the time and was made an outcast and despised, the same thing happened to the Apostle Paul, Martin Luther, and John Wesley.
Today in this day and age, it is the same. If you are someone who truly follows Jesus, you will be shunned and despised. If Jesus came back to earth today, he would be welcomed by the born again Christians, but he would still be despised and left in the cold by the religious people.
