The Door of the Tabernacle

The direction that the door faced was the opposite direction of houses in the world. The door of the tabernacle faces east, so in order to enter the Holy Place, we must go from east to west. When Jesus was born, the wise men came from the east. It means they had to keep going west in order to meet Jesus. Most people want to head towards the east, where the sun rises. In other words, the direction of where hope in their flesh grows. The way to go to God is mentioned in several places in the Bible as the west, where the sun sets. In other words, it is the direction where fleshly hope dies off.

Not just the door, but every aspect of the tabernacle is different from the houses of the world, so if we look at it with our thoughts or point of view, then we can never understand the tabernacle. The condition we have to meet in order to enter inside the tabernacle is that we have to throw away our thoughts. So many people come to the door of the tabernacle, but are unable to throw away their thoughts, so they cannot enter in.

Isaiah 55:8 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts.” So we can never open the door and enter in with our thoughts. Only the people who come to the door and throw away their thoughts can go through the door.
