Tabernacle Lectures (8) Linen Curtains

The people of Israel wore dirty clothes, but they were not able to realize it. But when they came before the clean white linen curtains of the tabernacle, they discovered their clothes were dirty. This means we cannot realize our filthiness before we come before Jesus Christ and find him. As soon as we find him, our filthy and evil image is revealed. Our hearts are in suffering because of sin, and until our sins are washed, we cannot boldly before the Lord.
Religious people know very well that they are sinners, but they are very numb to sin. We do not see them sad or in pain because of sin. We cannot find them willing to even resolve their sins. It is because they do not even realize how much of a dirty, filthy, and evil sinner they are. So they just leave the sins in their heart and look at them lightly. Even while they have sins, they go to church and think they can go to heaven, and they live happily. It is because they have not been revealed before the holy righteousness of Jesus Christ.
When the people of this world stand before God, they need the righteousness of God in order for God to receive them with joy. Jesus said in Matthew 5:20, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” You must have the righteousness of Jesus in order to stand confidently before God.
