Even if we do a lot of beautiful works for the gospel, we have no choice but to fall if the base is not strong. But if the base is sturdy, the lampstand will never fall. Those who are saved also meet trials, fall into despair, or struggle sometimes. But Christ is the firm base of our spiritual life.

In that day, we will be in the same position as Jesus Christ, sitting on the glorious throne with him. Those who are saved are not standing through their own effort or ways. The Lord became our base when we received salvation. He is holding onto us so we can stand strong, no matter what the circumstances are.

There is a big difference between our work and the works of Jesus. When Jesus works, everything works out beautifully, even if we just stand still. Our work for Jesus or living as children of light are all accomplished by Jesus. And we stand strong in faith because of Jesus.
