The lampstand is on the south side of the Holy Place, and the table of shewbread is on the north side. God told them to make the table of shewbread from acacia wood and cover it with gold. The table of shewbread also represents Jesus Christ. The bread that is arranged on top of the table of shewbread also shows Jesus. God wrote about the table of shewbread to reveal Jesus Christ, who is the bread of life.

In John 6, Jesus fed the crowd of 5,000 people after he gave thanks for the five loaves of bread and two fish. Five thousand people ate that bread and liked it. But what Jesus wanted to give was Himself, the bread of life. He was thought it was sad they did not look for Jesus, who is the bread of life.

John 6:27 “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life.”

Problems arise for the many people who live on this earth because they do not have Jesus Christ, who is the bread of life, inside them.
