Genesis 5:21 “And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters”
After Enoch had Methuselah, he walked with God for 300 years. Enoch got closer to God and walked with God because of Methuselah. The people of that time followed their flesh and lived very lustfully. As Enoch’s heart for God rose up, and as he had fellowship with God, and considered God’s work as his own, he lived walking with God.
Even if you have believed in Jesus for 10 or 20 years, kneeling and confessing your sins, and asking for forgiveness is not the spiritual life God wants. The spiritual life God wants is us realizing we are sinners and being washed of our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Just like the table of showbread was waiting behind the altar, after our sins are washed, God does not want the spiritual life of us just staying in front of the cross. He wants us to enter the world of fellowship with him.
