Exodus 27:10 “The hooks of the pillars and their bands shall be silver.”

There are 60 pillars in the tabernacle. They are placed on top of the bronze sockets. Just because they are placed on top of the bronze sockets, that does not mean they are standing strong. The pillars that hold up the curtains cannot stand strong with only the bronze sockets when the wind blows. So there are the hooks and bands. The hooks and bands connect the pillars to each other, and it says they are made of silver.

Even if the pillars are weak, once they are connected with other pillars, they can stand strong. If the pillars are connected to the hooks and bands beside them, then they stand strong. Everything that appears in the tabernacle reveals Jesus, while also revealing the saints who are redeemed. What makes the pillars stand strong also keeps our spiritual lives from rocking. This means that even if you are saints who have been redeemed, you can also fall into trials or into the world.

Everything in the Bible has a meaning. Gold represents God’s glory, the tree represents Jesus Christ’s human nature, bronze represents the judgment, silver represents the grace of Jesus Christ’s redemption. The pillars stand on top of the bronze sockets, but they are connected to other pillars through the silver hooks and bands so they do not fall. In the same way, it is telling us that after we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and we live spiritual life, sometimes we make mistakes and fall. But grace is the price of redemption, and it holds onto us every time that happens.
