Purple thread, fine woven linen
The door of the tabernacle is made up of 4 types of thread: blue thread, purple thread, scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. The four colors are showing the 4 different sides of Jesus Christ. The gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are all presenting Jesus, but each of them are presenting different sides of Jesus Christ. The 4 types of thread are showing the different sides of Jesus Christ as well.
The blue thread is the color of the sky, so it shows Jesus Christ is God. The scarlet thread shows the fact that Jesus is a human. The purple thread is the color of the clothes that kings wore in the past, so it shows that Jesus is king. And the fine woven linen is threaded together by the point of the needle. The thread does not do what it wants, but it follows the needle and stops in the place the needle stops. This shows that Jesus Christ is the servant of God who does not have his own will.
The book of Matthew is expressing Jesus as the King of the Jews. A king works through his words, so the book of Matthew, more than the other books of the gospel, records many of the sermons that Jesus himself gave in order to show the authority of his words. The book of Mark is expressing Jesus as the servant of God. The genealogy of Jesus does not appear in Mark, because a servant does not have a genealogy. The book of Luke is showing that Jesus is the Son of Man. The book of John is showing Jesus as the Son of God.
