Many people today think, “Even though I have sins in my heart, I am justified in God’s eyes.” God says that the righteous are righteous; he can never lie and say that sinners are righteous. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who shed his blood on the cross, so our sins are washed. All the record of our sins are blotted out, and that is why God says we are righteous. He said he will not condemn us anymore.
The problem is the record of sins remains on the tablet of our hearts. We still remember the sins we have committed. The sins that are recorded on the tablet of our hearts, how can those sins be forgiven? If we believe that all our sins are resolved on the cross, then even if we remember our sins, they are already resolved. For God, the sins recorded on the horns of the altar have already been erased by the blood of Jesus Christ. Through believing this, the sins recorded on the tablet of our hearts are erased.
The reason we are not able to erase the sins that are recorded on the tablet of our hearts is because we do not believe that the blood of Jesus Christ has forgiven all our sins. Jesus Christ has eternally washed all the sins that are recorded on the tablet of our hearts through his death on the cross.
