Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and made them sin for the purpose of increasing the distance between man and God. When we sin, our own hearts become far from God. Once our hearts are far from God, Satan uses several methods to easily drag us into sin. We think we will not sin if we make up our minds not to sin. But being determined not to sin, trying not to sin, is the deception of Satan.
Sin is stronger than us. No matter how much we try or resolve, if sin drags us, then we can only be helplessly dragged. That is why, in order to defeat sin, we must be with Jesus Christ who can defeat sin. Jesus Christ overcame sin, overcame the temptations of Satan, and he overcame death.
So there must be no wall of any kind between us and Jesus Christ. That is the way we can overcome sin. When our relationship with Jesus Christ becomes clean, holy, and without flaws or scars, we can put on the strength of Jesus Christ and overcome sin.
