Exodus 25:31 “You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece.”
These words are saying how to make the lampstand. God told them to make it of gold, of “hammered work.” The lampstand was made through the hands of Aholiab and Bezalel, and they needed one talent of gold to make it.
Aholiab and Bezalel took one talent of gold, hammered it with a hammer, and turned it into the shape of the lampstand little by little. They kept striking the gold, so six branches were made, seven shafts were formed, and they lit the lamps that were on top. So they turned it into a lamp that shined beautiful and radiant light.
The lampstand is not just pointing to Jesus Christ; it is the shadow of the saints who received salvation. There is a process for a saint to become a lampstand. When the servants of God, Aholiab and Bezalel, took the lump of gold to make it into a lampstand, they constantly struck it with a hammer. As it kept getting hit, it changed into the shape of a lampstand little by little. And later, God saw that it had changed into a beautiful and glorious lampstand. If the saints who received salvation are grabbed by the hands of Jesus, they do not change because they put effort to do so. In the hands of Jesus, they naturally lose their shape and change into the shape that Jesus Christ wants.
