Exodus 25:31 “You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece.”
The lampstand is composed of the base that supports the lampstand, the six branches that come out from the shaft, the seven bowls shaped like almond blossoms placed on the ends of the branches, and the seven ornamental knobs. When they made the lampstand, they did not make the shaft separately and attach it to the base, and they did not make the branches and bowls and ornamental knobs separately and attach them to the branches. They hammered one talent of gold—in other words, one piece of gold—and made the base, the shaft, the branches, the bowls, and the ornamental knobs. Everything was made from one piece of gold.
Aholiab and Bezalel did not make the base, the shaft, the bowls, the ornamental knobs, and other parts separately and then combine them together. They hammered one talent of gold, and one part became the base, one part became the shaft, another part became the branches and ornamental knobs and bowls. The flowers, ornamental knobs, base, and shaft—all of them was one piece of gold.
